M&M posts 10% rise in tractor exports in August

Mumbai, September 03, ’07: Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment sector, a part of the $4.5 billion Mahindra Group with a growing global presence, saw a significant 10% rise in tractor exports, which stood at 561 in August 07 as compared to 509 for the corresponding month last year. Domestic sales grew by 4% at 6011 in August 07 as compared to 5801 for the corresponding month last year.

The total sales volume for the month including exports stood at 6572, against 6310 in F07, a rise of 4%.

Cumulative sales (April to August) showed a marginal dip of 1% over the same period last fiscal. The company posted total sales volumes of 40850 tractors in F08 including exports as compared with 41194 in F07 in the same period last year.
